Human Like Me is a new, original play about diversity and multiculturalism in Canada. Based on the stories and real experiences of people from our community, the audience will see through the eyes of an immigrant family of humans who move to Obelopolis: The World’s Happiest Monster Metropolis. But how will they adapt to a world that wasn’t designed for humans, like them?
This play is a part of Theatre for Social Change and audience participation will be encouraged. In order to manage this during a pandemic, Human Like Me will take the form of a Choose-Your-Own-Adventure play, with the audience getting to vote on the ending.
A single public performance will be held on Saturday, December 12 at 7:00 pm. This performance will be free and open to all but seating is limited so you must reserve a ticket. We will also be Live Streaming this performance for those who can’t attend in person.
Schools, community groups, and cultural organizations are also welcome to book a free performance for their members. Available dates are December 7 – 11, though if a different date is required we will try to accommodate. There is no cost to groups wishing to book a performance but they must have a venue that allows for Covid Safety for those in attendance. To inquire: firstname.lastname@example.org.
